Costa Rica

FIRM activities in Costa Rica aim to assist the country to reach its climate neutrality goal by 2021. The project will therefore support the development of a sectoral Low Carbon Development Strategy. Further, Costa Rica will elaborate NAMAs in two key prioritized sectors: 1) agriculture (livestock) and 2) the housing sector (decarbonisation of building material in the housing sector).

Other UNEP activities in Costa Rica with relations to FIRM include the Technology Needs Assessment exercise (TNA).

FIRM focal institution in Costa Rica: Climate Change Directorate of the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Telecommunications (MINAET).
